The city of Eindhoven is vibrant and one of the liveliest towns in the country. Its nightlife does not disappoint with many concerts, theaters, bars, restaurants and events. Eindhoven offers something for everyone with quiet cafes, open parks and bustling night clubs open until the wee hours of the morning.
Concerts, Theater and Events
Eindhoven always has some kind of fun and exciting event going on. With many concert and theater venues, the city is the perfect place for a night out on the town.
Parktheater: A large modern theater that is located along the edge of the Stadswandelpark. The venue hosts more than 500 different events throughout the year.
Effenaar: The Effenaar also features a bar and restaurant. There are also two larger halls that often host dancing and concert events. Both international and local artists have been known to take the stage here.
Dynao: This is the city’s largest youth center and is located in the center of town. A number of activities take place here, including major art projects, workshops, community events, concerts and sporting events.
Muziekgebouw Frits Philips: A venue that hosts a number of concerts throughout the year, including world music and jazz.
Restaurants and Cafes
To satisfy your appetite, Eindhoven offers many different restaurants and cafes, many of which are open late. Bars and eateries typically stay open until 2AM during the week and 4AM on the weekends. Many of the city’s most popular restaurants can be found in Dommelstraat, which can be found just opposite the train station. The Markt and the Bergen kwartier also feature a number of eateries.
Eindhoven is a melting pot of different cuisines from around the world. Authentic Turks Restaurant Ege serves up fine Turkish cuisine, while Ethiopisch Restaurant serves Ethiopian cuisine. Yokohoma, Jiu.nu and Yakitory& the Sushi’s offer dishes of the Asian persuasion. For an authentic Dutch dining experience, De Luytervelde is an upscale restaurant that serves both Belgian and Dutch cuisines.
Bars and Clubs
De Markt is an open square that draws in large crowds when the weather is fair. The Grand Café De Wilderman offers live music from time to time and is a popular place to grab a drink with friends. O-Sheas is another popular spot that is located just off the square. Enjoy live music and a beer on the weekend. Sporting events are also shown on two large screen TVs.
De Effenaar is the place to be if you want to dance the night away. The venue is a popular spot for DJs and local gigs. Ramblers caters more to the rock and metal scene, while Mundial Cocktail Bar is a bit trendier and offers an excellent menu of cocktails.
Of course, you cannot talk about Eindhoven nightlife without mentioning Stratumseind. This strip of town features more than 40 different bars and eateries. This is the city’s main area for nightlife where bar hopping is a regular activity. Some of the most famous DJ’s play here on a regular basis and it is not uncommon for the street to become a part of the party.
