The Northern Maritime Museum (Noordelijk Scheepvaartmuseum) in Groningen focusses on the history of shipbuilding and shipping in the province of Groningen and was founded in 1930. The museum shows history from the Middle Ages till the present day. You will find themes like: Turf and inland, coastal and tidal navigation, shipbuilding in wood and iron and marine engines.
