Slot Zuylen was established in the 1300s as a fortified fortress. But during the civil war in 1422 it was totally damaged until it was rebuilt in 1510. But in 1752 it was transformed into a country mansion. Its present location is the northern part of Utrecht’s river.

How To Get There
Visiting Slot Zuylen depends on the season you are planning to take a tour. During high season which is primarily from May 15 to September 15, the schedule of the guided tours is on an hourly basis that starts from 11:30 to 3:30 pm during Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday respectively.
And during Saturday the schedule of the guided tours starts from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. And during Sunday the schedule is from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, and for the families with children respectively the guided tour started at 12:00 pm.
But during the Low season which is from March 15 to May 15 and September 15 to November 15, the schedules are only available during Saturday and Sunday. Saturday schedule is from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. And on Sunday the schedule is 1:30 to 3:30 pm and the guided tour for the children and their family starts at 12:00 pm.
All of the guided tours are available only in Dutch but the respective translation is available on the guide papers. The Slot Zuylen is closed during winter but guided tours are possible if an arrangement is reserved prior to the visit. During Christmas season guided tours are on festivity themes respectively.
